Q. How do I move my files and my old site?

FTP Users: Easy as pie. Simply log on to your old server with your FTP program and download all the files on your site (including any subdirectories and the files within them) to your hard drive. Then close the connection, log on to Angelfire's FTP server, and upload all the files to the new location. (Angelfire's FTP server is ftp.angelfire.com - use your member name and password to connect!)

Non-FTP Users: Almost as easy, but it takes a bit longer. If you have your files backed up on your computer's hard drive, you're halfway there. If not, you need to download all the files to your hard drive. Here's one method:

Create a folder called "Site Backup" on your hard drive. Then choose "Save As" from the "File" menu of your Web browser, for every page on your site, and save them to your "Site Backup" folder. Note: IE will save your HTML and image files. Netscape users must download image files by right-clicking on each image.

Once you've downloaded all your files, log-in to Angelfire and upload them using the Web Shell's "Upload" feature. You can upload up to ten files at a time.

WebTV Users: (and anyone else who cannot save files to a hard drive) Log-in to Angelfire and use the Transloader to move your files. The Transloader is located in the Web Shell underneath the Upload tool. Just enter the address of each page and image of your site (one at a time - we know, that stinks) and click the button.

IMPORTANT: If you choose a method other than FTP, you will need to remove your previous site hosting service's ad banner code from your HTML files. No matter which method you choose, you will probably also need to change some of your links and image tags to properly reference your new address. We recommend you make all changes to your HTML files before you upload the pages to Angelfire.

Q. I'm afraid of FTP! Can you help me?
